You are warmly invited to join us at Nuori Taide 2025: experiencing art, creating it, and discussing its significance in our lives. At the event, opinions are encouraged to be expressed and art may shake you. When respecting each other. New doors may open, friendships can begin, and artistic practice gets new directions. Art collectives may pop up and perspectives broaden.

Nuori Taide 2025 is organised by a national production team of young people who have defined the event's core values: openness, sustainability, and equality. Main partner is Youth Cultural Centre Monitoimitalo 13.

Program

The event showcases a wide range of visual art created by young people and brings together young art makers from across Finland. Visual art includes paintings, drawings, art graphic, sculpture, photography, media art, light art, performance art, and, sound art. Panel discussions, performances and, workshops enrich the programme.

Highlights include RARE Media’s pop-up exhibition on rave culture, a panel discussion about youth art during a mental health crisis, and much more. The full program, curated by young people, will be announced in February 2025. Nuori Taide keeps all rights to be reserved.

Showcasing Art

At the event, visual art makers aged 15–29 from across Finland will showcase their work at exhibition booths, art exhibition, and on the big screen. Open call to showcase you art for 15 to 29 years old visual art makers has closed 16th Jan 2025. Thank you for the applications! We are received highest number of applications 178 from 15 out 19 regions in Finland. All applicants will be contacted via email on 5th February. Art makers will be announced in February 2025.

Nuori Taide and its partners encourage young artists by gifting event visitors exclusive goodie bags filled with art supplies. The number of bags is limited, so don’t miss out! Would you like to support young artists? Contribute by donating materials for goodie bags!

Openness
We emphasis staying open for new ideas and different opinions without harming anyone.

Sustainability
All productional decisions are aimed to be considered from the perspectives of ecological, financial, social, and cultural sustainability. E.g. public transport is recommend traveling form in all occasions.  

Equality
Including parts such as: We welcome you just as you are. Event is open for all interested in visual creations made by young people. Production team aims to work applying a very low hierarchy. Wishes and aims are encouraged to be shared and aimed to be taken into account.

Accessibility

The event is held in a historic, multi-story building in downtown Tampere. An elevator provides easy access to all floors, and a quiet room is available for those who need a moment to unwind. Arriving

We recommend use of public transport for all travels if possible. Youth Cultural Centre is located 10 minutes walk form Tampere railway station. Cloakroom is located in the first floor of the building. Accessibility information of the building can be found in here.

Co-production

A team of young production assistants, from seven different cities around Finland, is organising the event in collaboration with Nuori Taide producers and partners. The assistants work primarily in four smaller teams, each focusing on a different aspect of the event production. Get to know the team and read how to apply to involve.

As all Nuori Taide's activities, this event is a collaborative effort between young creatives, youth work professionals, and visual art professionals. Partners contribute to the program through content creation and support the event through donations. The main partner of the event is Tampere Youth Services' Cultural Centre Monitoimitalo 13. Nuori Taide events

The events are organised every second year in different cities in Finland. Events gather  around thousand young art makers to exhibit and sell their art, organise workshops and discussion programme as well as performances. In the event, young art professionals work as mentors or discussion partners of young art makers.
